I opened one heart, West overcalled two clubs, I reopened with a double and bid three hearts over Robert’s two spades.

Our auction was pass-pass-one heart-two diamonds-pass-pass-double-pass-two spades-pass-three hearts-pass-three spades-pass-three no trumps.  The king of diamonds was led and South, playing count, followed with the six.  The nine would have been a better choice.  From North’s point of view I had dropped the five from Q53.  He continued with the seven of diamonds.

Our auction was over-elaborate (one club – one heart – one no trump – two clubs – three spades – three no trumps) and the nine of diamonds lead became obvious.

My opening bid of one club was passed to East who bid one no trump.  I led a spade and declarer won in hand and played a heart to the queen.  A second heart went to my jack and I switched to a diamond.  Robert won the ace and returned a club.  I took my tricks and underled my king of diamonds.  Declarer guessed wrong and we took the last two tricks.
